HangarIQ ("HangarIQ", "we", "us") turns photos of aircraft logbooks into searchable records and answers questions about them. This policy explains what information we collect when you use hangar-iq.com (the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have. We don't sell your information and we don't show ads.
1. What we collect
Account information
You sign in with Google. Google shares your name, email address, profile photo and a Google account identifier with us. We use nothing else from your Google account. We also record when your account was created and when you last signed in.
Logbook content
The page photos you upload, the names you give your logbooks, the entries we read from your pages (such as dates, descriptions of work and who performed or signed off the work), and any corrections you make.
Questions and answers
The questions you ask about your logbooks and the answers the Service gives, saved as conversations.
Usage and billing
A record of each billable action: logbook uploads, page reading and questions, with the number of processing tokens used and the cost, plus your monthly statements and whether they were paid.
Payment information
Cards are collected and charged by Stripe. Your full card number never reaches our servers. We store the Stripe customer and payment method identifiers, the card brand and the last four digits so we can show which card is on file and charge it each month.
Technical information
Like most websites, our servers and hosting providers log requests, including IP address, browser type, pages requested and timestamps, to keep the Service running and secure.
2. Your logbook photos
To read a page, we send the photo to Google's Vertex AI (Gemini) service. Google processes it under its Google Cloud terms, which don't allow Google to use customer data to train its models. Once a page has been read, we keep the entries we extracted, not the photo itself. Your questions, along with the relevant logbook entries, are also sent to Vertex AI to generate answers.
3. How we use your information
- To provide the Service: read your pages, show your entries, produce PDFs and answer your questions.
- To run your account and sign you in.
- To bill you: track usage, prepare monthly statements and charge your card.
- To support you and send messages about your account or billing.
- To keep the Service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
We don't use your logbook content for advertising, and we don't sell or rent your personal information.
4. Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that run parts of the Service for us:
- Google: Google Sign-In, and Vertex AI for reading pages and answering questions.
- Stripe: saving your card and processing payments.
- Cloudflare: hosting and delivering the website.
Each provider handles data under its own terms and privacy policy. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the rights, property or safety of HangarIQ, our users or others, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information.
5. Cookies and browser storage
We don't use advertising or analytics cookies. When you sign in, we keep a sign-in token in your browser's local storage so you stay signed in; signing out removes it. Google's sign-in button and Stripe's payment page may set their own cookies, which are covered by their policies.
6. How long we keep it
- Logbooks, entries and conversations: until you delete them or your account is deleted.
- Account information: for as long as your account exists.
- Billing records (usage, statements and payments): as long as needed for accounting, tax and legal purposes, which can be after your account is deleted.
- Server logs: for a limited period, as set by our hosting providers.
7. Your choices
- You can view and correct your logbook entries, and delete logbooks, at any time in the app.
- To delete your account, or to ask for a copy of your information or a correction, email support@hangar-iq.com from the email address on your account. Any unpaid usage is still owed after deletion.
- You can remove HangarIQ's access in your Google account settings at any time.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, such as the right to know, access, correct or delete personal information. Contact us to exercise them; we won't discriminate against you for doing so.
8. Security
Connections to the Service are encrypted (HTTPS), access to your data requires your signed-in account, and payments are handled by Stripe. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information and will notify you of a breach as required by law.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We'll post the new version here with a new effective date, and for material changes we'll let you know by email or in the app before they take effect.
